On Battle Studies; ”This was incredibly precisely drawn out as a melodic record, which made it really hard to sing. Since I watched that Austin City Limits Interview Last Night
I’ve remembered how big of a John Mayer fan I used to be. Time to go iron a picture of him onto a shirt…kidding (only because he’s not touring this summer) ;-) I’m listening to Heavier Things now and relearning ‘Clarity’ on guitar.
It thrills me to no end to play it along with the You Tube clip of JM playing it acoustic and to look up and see his hands playing the exact same chords. I feel like yes yes I’m really doing it!! And for a few seconds I can believe I’m just as good as JM at guitar!!!! (although, I know not really…, but I’m trying to enjoy my Saturday so :-P).
